To deny others access to removable storage on a Windows computer, you can use the Local Group Policy Editor to enable the “All Removable Storage classes: Deny all access” policy. This will prevent users from accessing and using USB drives, external hard drives, and other removable storage devices.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the Local Group Policy Editor: Search for “gpedit.msc” in the Start menu and open the application. 
  2. Navigate to Removable Storage Access: Go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Removable Storage Access. 
  3. Enable the policy: Double-click on “All Removable Storage classes: Deny all access” and select “Enabled”. 
  4. Apply the changes: Click “OK” and close the Group Policy Editor. 
  5. Restart the computer: For the changes to take effect, you need to restart your computer.
